Breaking Boredom

T.K. was lying on a couch in the main room, with Patamon sitting on the armrest.
"What'cha doing, T.K.?"
"I don't know. I don't really have anyone other than you to talk to, since two of the people here are fighting already, and the other two seem to be criminally insane."
"Well, there's bound to be someone else here by now! Why don't we take a tour of this place until we see someone who we can talk to that isn't crazy!"
"Good idea, Patamon! At least it'll give us something to do." T.K. gets off the couch and stands up. Patamon hops off the armrest and lands on the floor.

Gatomon is running through the halls of the building, looking through every doorway she can find. Kari is following close behind. Kari looks through a doorway leading into the main room and sees someone wearing a familiar white hat. "T.K.? Is that you?"
Gatomon skids to a stop and runs back to where Kari is. "Did you find them, Kari?"

Ed walked quietly into the main room. He noticed Kari, Gatomon, Patamon, and T.K., but was a little reluctant to introduce himself. Sighing and muttering to himself, he got up and walked over to them. He nodded to them and gave a small smile, "Hi. I'm Edward Elric. Who are you guys?" He asked, still standing back a bit as he looked curiously at the Digimon then back at their human companions.

"Kari?! When did you get here?" T.K. runs over to Kari Meanwhile, Patamon walks over to Ed.
"My partner's a bit preoccupied talking to his friend, so I'll tell you about us. Gatomon and I are Digimon, which is short for 'digital monsters'. We're creatures made from computer data that can transform into larger stronger creatures. In my case, I can transform into an angel." Patamon points at T.K. and Kari. "However, we need our partners' help to do it. They have these things called 'Digivices', which speed up the Digivolution process. Normally, it would be like aging for humans, but with their 'Digivices,' we can go to higher forms much faster, even though it's only temporary."
"As for how they became our partners, we have no idea. They were chosen by something, either the four Digimon Sovereigns, which are like gods, or a mysterious old man named Gennai, who seems to age backwards for some reason." Patamon chuckles. "I guess I babbled a bit. I tend to do that when I meet new people who aren't trying to kill me. So, what's your story?"

Ed sighed and gave a small smile to Patamon, "Well...mine's a rather long and sad story. I...I lost my mom when I was ten years old, to a terrible disease. Then..." He rolled up his right sleeve, showing his Automail, "My brother Alphonse and I tried to bring her back, using alchemy, a human transmutation. I realize only now that it was a foolish mistake....and I lost my right arm and left leg trying to do that. My brother lost something much worse...he lost....he lost his entire body. I saved him, though, by binding his soul to a suit of armor. We also ended up creating the Homunculus Sloth...which has the appearance of our mother, but no soul. Homunculus are beings that result when an alchemist tries to bring someone back with human transmutation. They take on the appearance of the one the alchemist was trying to revive." He then fell silent and leaned on the wall, missing his brother and wondering where he was and hoping he was all right.

Ed blinked as he heard his name called out by the computer. He seemed to disappear and reappeared in the space arena.

Lloyd wandered into the room, watching all the fights taking place. While he did his best to pay attention to each of the fighters, eventually his mind drifted back to his injured father, who was now sleeping peacefully in their room. He sighed and leaned on a wall, still watching the monitors, but not seeming interested in what was happening on them anymore.
Kurama also came in, walking slowly. He saw Lloyd standing there, seeming a bit preoccupied, and told him, "Those fights are interesting, aren't they?"
Lloyd jumped a bit, taken by surprise by Kurama's sudden appearance, "Ohh...uhh, yeah, sure. Hey, who are you, anyway?"
Kurama nodded, "I am Kurama. I'm sorry if I startled you, but I couldn't help but notice that you seem to not really be paying attention to the fights. Is something on your mind?"
Lloyd answered, "Yeah...but don't worry about it. I'm sure you have better things to do than worry about my problems." He gave the redhead a small smile.
Kurama shrugged, "Not really. If you don't want to talk about it with me, that's fine, but you need to get whatever's bothering you out of your system. If you're distracted during a fight, it could cost you your life. Don't forget that."
Lloyd nodded, "I won't. Thank you." He faced away from Kurama now, looking at the monitors again.
